Specialist, BOM/Breakpoint/PFEP
Job Purpose:
The Bill of Material (BOM) / Break Point and Plan for Every Part (PFEP) Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the Bill of Materials across all products. This role ensures that all engineering changes are effectively evaluated, documented, and implemented in a timely manner. The specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and quality assurance to support product development and manufacturing processes.
Key Functional Responsibilities:
• Track the Engineering Change Notification (ECN) and Engineering Change Request (ECR) processes.
• Coordinate implementation of Engineering Change with concerned stakeholders
• Support with evaluating the impact of proposed changes on production, cost, and quality.
• Document and communicate approved changes to all relevant departments.
• Help with maintain a change history and ensure proper version control of BOMs.
• Minimize the Obsoleteness for manufacturing cost optimization.
• Assure inventory accuracy after engineering change implementation.
• Gather accurate BOMs for all products.
• Ensure all components, assemblies, and sub-assemblies are correctly documented and aligned with Bill of Process.
• Update BOMs to reflect engineering changes, new product introductions, and phase-out activities.
• Coordinate with design engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality confirmation teams to ensure changes are feasible and align with company standards. • Ensure all BOM data is accurately entered into the company’s ERP systems.
• Maintain compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, or a relevant field.
Experience:
0 - 3 Years in BOM management, engineering change or a relevant field
