Title

Assistant Manager

 

  • General & Task Management -:
  • Development of purchasing strategy - part and supplier strategy.
  • Identify, track supplier localization opportunities and drive localization execution process towards final target accomplishment
  • Perform accurate and timely supplier selection – Sourcing on time in relation to vehicle program development and to the approved supplier panel, specifications, quality expectations, and market competitiveness
  • Negotiate contracts, improved prices and commercial terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods
  • Explore alternate sources for goods and materials & for better cost.
  • Prepare purchase orders in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers and in line with organizational targets and requirements.
  • Undertake research on new suppliers and supplier evaluation for existing suppliers
  • Connect with suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues & keep the track of supplier capacity, ramp up schedule to meet pre-builds & mass production need.
  • Manage the commodity in the BOM to which the he / she is assigned by Commodity Leader
  • Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement
  • Drive supplier consolidation where possible across supply base to create leverage – and drive sourcing part consolidation
  • Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers
  • Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible
  • Deliver briefs, updates and reports - track and report savings
  • Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships and internal stakeholder

 

  • People Management -:
  • Ensuring coaching and monitoring for developing role for lower-level Buyers to enhance their career and professional development
  • Share the knowledge with the other team members
  • Relationship Management -:

 

  • Work collaboratively and negotiate and engage with stakeholders and suppliers regarding new projects, supplies and initiatives and advise of impact of change on purchasing and production activities.
  • Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact
  • Support product change requests and review and communicate the impact in terms of price & on capacity plans
  • Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and ensure good communications

 

 

 

  • Skill & Competencies

 

 

  • Strong skills in negotiation, financial cost analysis, market analysis, continuous improvement, problem solving, time and project management
  • Strong English language skills
  • Professional interpersonal verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of materials management
  • Proficient with Microsoft office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Experience in SAP / ERP System is must.
  • Knowledge of contract law and Incoterms, international payment
  • Ability to work globally, independently, and self-directed & Self Motivated.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced start up environment

Job Purpose

To develop and execute purchasing strategies, processes, procedures, standards and policies for assigned commodities and suppliers, to ensure efficient sourcing process and maintain continuity of the supply chain in terms of commercial aspect considering high quality, state of the art manufacturing technology, timing and competitive costs.

 

Qualifications, Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or Engineering or Related Area are required.

10+ years of experience in purchasing, engineering, supply chain management in an Automotive Manufacturing Industrial (Automotive maker or suppliers)
