Associate Engineer, Electrical Powertrain Center
Engineer (Level 5)– E-Powertrain Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) Software
Profile
Highly motived (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automotive or similar) Engineer with 2–4 years of automotive experience to contribute to the development, integration, and validation of e-Powertrain software for the Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) across EV and Hybrid platforms. The successful candidate will bring foundational expertise in model-based software development, requirements engineering, data analysis, and vehicle-level testing for BEVs and Hybrid architectures, with a solid grounding in e-Powertrain systems and control software principles.
Responsibilities
- ASW Requirement & Model Development: Support e-Powertrain requirements (HV Coordination, Energy Management, torque management, EV charging, thermal management) and maintain VCU ASW MATLAB/Simulink models. Perform MIL simulations, support HIL development, and assist in .hex/.a2l generation.
- DBC Review & Communication Management: Review and manage DBC files for CAN network definitions. Ensure signal accuracy and message structure align with requirements. Coordinate DBC updates and maintain interface files (CAN matrix, LDF, Ethernet).
- Log Analysis & Root Cause Analysis: Analyze vehicle/bench test logs (CAN/Ethernet traces) to identify bugs and system faults. Perform root cause analysis using CANoe, INCA MDA, and MATLAB, and document findings with corrective actions.
- Calibration & Vehicle Testing: Support VCU calibration changes, bug reproduction, and fixes for HV/LV lab car, thermal bench, and vehicle tests. Assist in flash programming and data acquisition during test campaigns.
- Software & Change Management: Support SW releases in Teamcenter and manage ECR/DCR/TCR processes. Coordinate with ASW/BSW suppliers to meet Function Release Stage (FRS) milestones.
- FUSA & Cybersecurity: Assist in preparing and tracking VCU Functional Safety and cybersecurity deliverables per ISO 26262 and ISO 21343.
- Documentation & Coordination: Contribute to design documents and interface files. Support meetings and communications between e-PWT, cross-functional teams, and suppliers.
- Issue Tracking: Log, track, and follow up on software issues with clear defect documentation and resolution progress.
