Job Purpose

This role is responsible for managing container assignments and standard pack data, supporting the validation and buy-off of packaging solutions, and addressing plant facility and packaging quality issues. It works closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Packaging, and Material Launch teams to ensure effective material handling, accurate documentation, and smooth implementation of container strategies across the plant.

 

Key Functional Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards, including ISO 9001. Apply ergonomic, lean manufacturing, and CMS principles to improve safety, efficiency, and sustainability. Maintain visual management tools and lead CMS Logistics initiatives, including self-assessments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Material Launch, ME Packaging, Production, and Packaging) to validate and implement packaging solutions. Approve container buy-offs, monitor performance during PPAP, and coordinate material handling activities.
  • Manage container and packaging requirements, including assignments, standard pack validation, inventory, repairs, replacements, scrap, and RFQ support. Liaise with suppliers and service providers to ensure timely and compliant packaging.
  • Coordinate the maintenance and calibration of returnable and internal racks in collaboration with engineering and third-party service providers. Implement inventory control processes for these assets to ensure availability, traceability, and compliance.
  • Develop and deliver training on packaging procedures, equipment use, and best practices. Provide ongoing support to plant personnel.
  • Maintain and update PFEP with accurate container and part data. Resolve packaging and material handling quality issues and implement corrective actions.\
  • Keep documentation current for standard pack sizes, container types, and handling procedures. Communicate updates to relevant teams.
  • Support plant layout development and optimize material flow strategies (e.g., kitting, SPS, small lot, point of use). Maintain routing, footprint, and flow documentation.
  • Address technical queries, analyze system changes, and apply best practices to improve material handling processes.
  • Track and analyze KPIs related to material handling and packaging. Use insights to drive improvements and support BPD/Scorecard targets.

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering.

 

Experience

  • 0 - 3 years minimum in SC systems / Processes / Production Operations or a relevant field.
  • Profound knowledge of Material Management Systems is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP and CAD knowledge is a plus
