IT Strategic Planning and Governance

Job Purpose

The role is responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of the organization's IT portfolio strategy, including assisting in the identification and prioritization of IT projects based on business value and resource availability.

This role is a senior contributor responsible for driving the planning, coordination, and reporting of complex IT initiatives. This role requires a seasoned professional with ~ 5 years of experience in IT project planning and coordination, who can operate independently, influence cross-functional teams, and contribute to the overall success of the project.

 

Key Functional Responsibilities 

 

Strategic Planning & Scheduling

  • Work with and support Project Managers (internal or external) on the development and maintenance of integrated project plans across multiple workstreams.
  • Identify and manage interdependencies, risks, and resource constraints.
  • Highlight any misalignment of project timelines with strategic IT portfolio objectives.

 

Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Support with defining and monitoring KPIs for project delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare executive-level dashboards and reports for senior leadership.
  • Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.

 

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Collaborate with Finance and IT leadership to manage budgets and forecasts.
  • Track actuals vs. planned spend and support cost optimization efforts.

 

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops and planning sessions.
  • Act as a liaison between the IT Strategic Planning and governance team and other IT departments, as well as between IT and other divisions.
  • Ensure stakeholder alignment and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

 

Process Improvement & Governance

  • Contribute to the enhancement of planning frameworks and governance models.
  • Support with the adoption and implementation of governance models across all projects.
  • Support audits and compliance reviews related to project execution.

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field
  • 3 - 5 years of experience
  • Advanced proficiency in project planning tools (e.g., MS Office Suite, ClickUp, Think-cell).    
  • Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies.    
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification.    
  • ITIL Foundation or similar process-oriented certification is an advantage.
