This role is to work with Product Development business divisions, ensuring they have access to the necessary tools (software and IT hardware) to support the delivery of key company milestones.
This includes the evaluation and selection of tools, procurement, implementation, ongoing user support and annual renewal of all systems as applicable. Software tools include engineering-and-design based software (CAD, CAE, CAx) and associated IT hardware (high-powered workstations, virtual reality (VR) equipment, High Performance Compute, etc.).
Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Competencies
Education:
Bachelor of Science, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or related discipline.
Skills & Competencies:
Experience supporting product development software including CAE and engineering and design hardware: HPC, BUR, Workstations/Laptops, peripheral equipment.
Experience in assets and software license management.
Proven experience in Operations Management in accordance with ITIL best practices.
Knowledge in the Automotive industry domain (processes, functions, tools).
Ability to adapt and work in a startup mode environment and deal with a high level of ambiguity.
Ability to operate independently, without the need for constant guidance or supervision.
Outstanding office software/computer skills.
Fluent in English.
Effective communication and leadership abilities.
Excellent communicator at operational level, both written and verbal.
Vendor management and project management skills preferred.

Key Accountabilities
IT Asset Management
Support Product Development software, CAE and hardware: HPC, BUR, Workstations/Laptops, peripheral equipment delivery / deployment and maintenance / operations management.
Support IT Operations teams with engineering and design hardware lifecycle (procurement, deployment, maintenance, refresh).
Manage engineering and design applications (procurement, rollout, accounts and access management across all platforms / solutions, ongoing support).
Manage engineering and design applications licensing (procurement, deployment, utilization analysis, usage and cost optimization, renewal, ongoing support).
Asset management for all Product Development assets.
Customer First
Consult and support Product Development communities (designers, engineers, data managers, etc.) on IT software / hardware usage best practices.
Arrange and manage Product Development solutions / systems / software / hardware training for designers and engineers.
Play incident Level 2 support engineer role for product development communities (investigate and resolution management).
Be first point of contact for design and engineering departments regarding product development software and hardware needs.
Participate in relevant product development community meetings and stand-ups.
Engage with and support IT solution delivery teams ensuring that required solutions are implemented and available.
Identify any risks/roadblocks to a program of work and mitigate to an acceptable level.
Process Improvement
Develop and refine processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Budget Management
Assist in developing and managing budgets for product development and lifecycle activities.
Monitor expenditures and provide forecasts for future resource needs.
Support and track procurement and finance initiatives relating to PR, PO, GRN and payments.
Project initiatives
Collaborate and support Product Development teams with their internal projects to ensure that IT support is provided as needed to ensure key business milestones are met.
Vendor management
Foster close relationships with various software and hardware vendors, relating to procurement initiatives and ensuring ongoing long-term support.
Liaise and coordinate with 3rd parties for level 3 support to resolve issues where required, to minimize business disruption.
