Senior Specialist, IT Engineering Application Administration
IT Product Development Systems
Job Purpose:
- The purpose of this role is to manage and administer Product Development related systems, ensuring business continuity.
Key Accountabilities:
- Role is responsible for maintaining and monitoring critical systems within the Product Development (PD) landscape, ensuring that these systems are operational and performing as expected
- Monitor application operational statuses and pro-actively work to minimize any production downtime
- Monitor and manage application license lifecycle and work with business users and application vendors to ensure smooth and timely license procurement / renewal
- Tracking application / HPC queues ensuring that all submitted jobs are running as expected, troubleshooting any failed jobs, and working with business units to improve processes
- Work with application vendors to ensure compatibility of applications and rolling out application updates to the PD landscape, including performing thorough User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and System Release Testing (SRT) in the pre-production environment
- Support business customers in evaluation of new software and technologies
- Maintain detailed documentation about system integrations, architecture and deployments
- Provide level 2 end-user support where needed and support to further engage with respective application vendors for level 3 end-user support
- Collaborating with other teams to develop integrations from the PD landscape to other systems such as ERP, MES and other standalone system
- Support with other project work as required
- Identify any risks/roadblocks to a program of work and mitigate to an acceptable level.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Competencies:
- Education:
- Bachelor of Science, in Computer Science or Related Discipline
- Skills & Competencies:
- Experience with product development tools and solutions: PLM, CAD, CAE, ALM, etc.
- Linux Operating system knowledge
- HPC management experience
- Experience administering simulation software mainly for the CAE team
- Comprehensive hands-on experience with monitoring and troubleshooting operation critical systems and documenting implemented solutions.
- Solid understanding of solution delivery processes and project management frameworks
- Ability to adapt and work in a startup mode environment and deal with a high level of ambiguity
- Experience in automotive industry is preferred
- Minimum Experience:
- 3+ years as a Systems Administrator
